Our waterways in the Seattle area are used in a huge variety of ways, by a huge variety of people. They sparkle in the rare 2 months of sunshine that people say is the reason to tolerate the other 10. They are home to pleasure boats, ski-doos, rowing shells, geese, ducks, beaver, osprey, eagles, otters, coots, yachts, dry-docks, barges, tugboats, floating homes, fishing vessels, live-aboard sailboats, cruise-a-homes, housebarges, float planes, electric boats, yacht brokers, ferries, cruise ships, and container ships. They are a huge part of a larger transportation system, as well as a way of life on the water.

The less romantic side is the footprint those parties leave behind.  I'll let someone else tell that story. It's my hope that my images will inspire people to appreciate these rejuvenating resources in such a way that we don't love them to death.
